Get Well Soon Eddie
February 25, 2008
Just a quick post to wish Eduardo all the best in his recovery. It’s a horrendous injury but obviously Eddie is made of strong stuff and I have little doubt we’ll see him back scoring in an Arsenal shirt, it’s just a question of when.
It’s a real shame for the man. He’s obviously a hard working, like-able, unpretentious, down-to-earth kind of guy, who has done well for Arsenal so far, but was only just starting to get to grips with the speed of the Premiership. I was looking forward to seeing him next season when he could have set the league alight, but alas we probably won’t see him until next year at least, and then he’ll be back to square one. At least he’s still young (25 years old today) so hopefully we’ll still see the best of him.
As for Martin Taylor, malicious or not (and I tend to think it was, at least malicious enough to want to “rough up” Eduardo) he certainly deserves a greater punishment than a three game ban, and more long bans should be dished out to put an end to this kind of violence in football.
So good luck Eduardo, I’ll look forward to welcoming you back to the Emirates. Keep the faith, and happy birthday.
